The Grange School is celebrating an excellent set of results, with the school seeing some of its best GCSE results ever, following a 7% rise in its 5 A*-C to 87%.

Headteacher Steve Dossett commented, ‘In a year of uncertainty with regards to GCSE grades we are “bucking the national trend” and are delighted with our results this year. Students across the ability range have achieved well. At The Grange we are seeing real trend in improving student outcomes. Quite simply students that come here make excellent progress. We are proud of the achievements of all our students but many of our highest achievers are leaving us this year with straight A* and A’s.

Jack Blanc and Kaiya Innes 12 A*/A
Daisy-May Brooks 11 A*/A
Megan Godley 10 A*/A
Andrew Shannon and Mark Shannon 9 A*/A
Jacque Durrant and Elizabeth Fitzgerald 8 A*/A
Harry Stallworthy 7 A*/A
Lucy Scott  6A*/A.
‘In addition to this our further maths students all achieved A* with 2 of them, Jack Blanc and Andrew Shannon, achieving the very highest standard of A* distinction. Our Business results have also been outstanding with 78% of students achieving a Distinction. This success has also been reflected in our sixth form vocational uptake and results.
It is clear to see that the school is going from strength to strength, in addition to seeing our results improving we are also noticing an increase in demand for places here, meaning that we are now oversubscribed in several year groups, and interest in our vocational sixth form is extremely high.’
